Connecticut streamer Warren Pandiscia has filed a proposed class action in the Northern District of California. He accuses Twitch and its owner Amazon of using creators' streams to train Amazon's AI without telling or paying them.
The complaint says the scraping began more than two years ago, before Twitch changed its terms to cover AI use and add an opt-out. It also cites a former Twitch executive's remark that video data had been used for prototyping, and claims Amazon chose to take the footage rather than license it.
Digital Music News sets the case beside music-industry training suits such as Round Hill's against Suno and Anthropic. It adds that DJs and musicians who perform on Twitch have particular reason to watch.
