Dreams of Violets, a 75-minute live-action film generated entirely with AI, was set to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 10. Ash Koosha directed it about the January 2026 protests in Tehran, following five strangers and a boy in a wheelchair, and finished it six months after the events.
Producer Fountain 0 calls it the first full-length AI live-action feature accepted by a major festival. The tools used were not disclosed. Tribeca co-founder Jane Rosenthal defended the choice, citing the story's urgency as much as the technology.
It follows AI footage shown to buyers at Cannes and AI imagery in Steven Soderbergh's documentary The Last Interview.
