MPC and The Mill, two of the best-known names left from Technicolor's 2025 collapse, are being combined into a single global studio under The Mill brand. The merged company joins MPC's film and episodic VFX work with The Mill's advertising and experiential production, and is owned by TransPerfect, the language-services and AI group that bought parts of the former Technicolor business.

TransPerfect is selling the combination as one studio that can do traditional effects alongside AI-driven production, localisation and worldwide delivery. Executives Ben Clark and Béatrice Bauwens, now head of film and series at The Mill, presented it as pairing craft with scale and reuniting teams with a shared past.

Cartoon Brew points out that this is familiar ground: Technicolor folded MPC's advertising arm into The Mill back in 2022, and the brands have changed hands and shape repeatedly. The new owners are emerging from receivership proceedings in early 2025 that put thousands of jobs at risk across MPC, The Mill, Mikros and Technicolor Games.

The open questions the outlet raises are whether the AI tools serve artists or mainly cut costs, and whether a one-stop vendor model can bring stability to a workforce that has already absorbed years of mergers and layoffs. The combined studio will keep serving film, TV, advertising, games and other clients.
