Asked at a CNBC summit about fan-made AI trailers for Practical Magic 2, Sandra Bullock and Warner Bros. film chief Pam Abdy said neither had seen them but neither objected.
Bullock, whose likeness appears in them without her consent, joked about it, then said the industry has to understand AI and use it creatively, while staying wary of people who will misuse it.
Abdy called the fan clips a sign of demand, since audiences were making them before any official trailer existed, and compared them with the fan content that helped Barbie and Sinners. She said Warner Bros. treats AI as a production tool to help filmmakers.
The sequel, with Bullock and Nicole Kidman, was due in cinemas on September 11.
