John Gore Studios has acquired Deep Fusion Films, a Cardiff production company that says its generative AI pipeline is fully insured, consent-based and rights-cleared. Televisual, whose headline describes the deal as a majority stake, reported it on 11 February; chief acquisition officer Jonathan Lack led it for the buyer.

Deep Fusion joins the group as one of its labels, keeping its leadership and identity and serving as the group's specialist hub for ethical AI production. It will go on developing its own IP and projects while providing tools, expertise and workflows to the wider studio for development, production, marketing and archive-based work.

The company was set up in 2023 by chief executive Benjamin Field, a producer, director and AI policy writer, with chief creative officer Jamie Anderson and executive chair Andrew Keats. Its slate spans documentary, factual entertainment and scripted development, along with experimental formats such as AI-assisted reworking of archive material. It is also building its own proprietary tools for filmmakers and rights holders, which it says fit existing workflows and cut administrative work.

Executive chairman John Gore said Deep Fusion are producers first and show how new technology can open creative possibilities without replacing human artistry. Chief executive Hilary Strong praised its mix of creative and technical work, its principled approach and its part in setting standards for responsible practice. Field said the move would give the company the scale to show that ethical AI enables creativity rather than limiting it, and Anderson said it could now spread that thinking across a wider group.
