Gal Gadot has explained why she joined Doug Liman's Bitcoin, a biopic with Casey Affleck as the cryptocurrency's creator that leans on AI for its sets and lighting. On the Happy Sad Confused podcast she said she is wary of the technology but would rather learn it than be left out, and that the AI work on the film did not touch the acting.
Protecting that took unusual effort: she said her lawyers spent about six months on the contract's AI terms, and that SAG-AFTRA later asked them for pointers on updating the union's own protections.
The film comes from Acme AI & FX and was shot in 20 days on a custom stage. People behind it say the approach cut a projected budget of around $300 million down to about $70 million.
