FaiBLE Media, the AI storytelling company started by Sharad Devarajan and two-time Oscar winner Mark Sagar, has bought exclusive film rights to Marc Stiegler's 1989 short story The Gentle Seduction and begun early production on a feature.

It will be the first film made with FaiBLE's own trans-creation engine. Rather than dubbing or subtitling, the tool is meant to produce a separate version for each of six languages and markets, with local characters, settings and performances around the same story and direction, all released at the same time.

The story, first printed in Analog, follows an ordinary woman near Mount Rainier who lives through decades of technological change. It is popular in Silicon Valley, and Sam Altman has cited it; its ideas echo in his 2025 essay The Gentle Singularity.

Devarajan calls the project hopeful rather than a warning, and Stiegler says the story was always about the person, not the technology. FaiBLE says the aim is to show how one film can feel native in many countries.
