Korean entertainment-technology company DNABLE will show its virtual boy group BEGRITZ at Indonesia Comic Con in Jakarta on 3 and 4 October, the act's first stage outing and one that comes before its formal debut.
The five members, Moon Chan, Do Ha, Tae Beom, Rubin and Shin Ui, are written as goblins roaming space and time. DNABLE plans, produces and runs the group in-house and will premiere a BEGRITZ performance video in Jakarta. On 4 October it also gives a conference talk at the festival, now in its tenth year, on the virtual idol market and how pairing K-pop with virtual technology can grow fandoms and IP businesses.
Chief executive Lee Gyeo-ra said the aim is a global IP that talks to fans in real time across languages and borders, with members who help write their own music. He called Jakarta a starting point for meeting Asian fans and showing the industry Korea's virtual production skills, with further partnerships in music, concerts and fan platforms to follow across Asia.
