Bengaluru police have arrested three men over AI-altered images and videos that showed Kannada actor Rukmini Vasanth in an objectionable way, NewsX reported on 23 September. The actor had complained to the city's Cyber Crime police that the material harmed her reputation and privacy and amounted to harassment.
Police registered a case under the Information Technology Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and formed a special team, which traced the suspects, aged 24, 25 and 33, from Bagalkot, Shivamogga and Bengaluru, and seized three phones allegedly used. The men have been produced in court.
The case, registered as Crime No. 36/2026, remains under investigation. Vasanth was recently seen in Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1, directed by and starring Rishab Shetty.
