Quavo and Takeoff's 2022 A COLORS SHOW performance of "Hotel Lobby", recorded as Unc & Phew, has become the template for a viral AI trend that replaces the pair with politicians, TV characters, athletes, animals and ordinary users.
XXL traces it to a TikTok clip of two cats in early September. Apps such as Starrd and Summrs need only two front-facing photos to swap faces into the clip with synced lips and hands; Starrd charges $5 per 15 seconds, and free CapCut templates also circulate.
The outlet flags the open question of using people's likenesses and branded footage without permission. Quavo reposted the original performance on X on September 23.
