Synopsis

A night out is winding down and the mood is turning dangerous. The film follows the last stretch of the evening in fast black-and-white cuts, as a situation that almost turns ugly builds around a driver.

It is built on the warning everyone already knows, do not drink and drive, and tells it as a tight, clean sequence rather than a lecture. The film ends on its closing frame, in which the driver meets her airbag.

About the Show

Riders Club: The Best Ending Is Getting Home is a very short black-and-white film by Benedikt Ölz, made for the Shortest AI Film Competition run by Forward Festival for Creativity with LTX. The competition asked for AI-generated films of under 60 seconds, and the festival's recap names this one the winning film.

Forward Festival's recap says Ölz made it with LTX, and the competition's open call invited entries made with LTX Studio. The pages do not name a specific LTX model version, so none is credited beyond LTX itself. The recap describes the film as cut tight and clean, and praises it for using the tool for a story rather than to show off the tool.

The winning films were programmed for the Shortest AI Film Festival, a free side event of Forward Festival Berlin on Thursday, 27 August 2026 at 9 PM on the rooftop of the Haus der Kulturen der Welt. The programme promised live moderation, winner reveals, short on-stage interviews and an audience award voted by the room.

The film took first place; the same recap names Personal Best by Sijin Liu, Ruby Nian and Lynn Tsai as second place. The pages read give nothing on Ölz's background or other work, a runtime beyond the under-60-seconds rule, or any public upload of the film.
