Biography
About Travis Barker
Travis Landon Barker was born on November 14, 1975, in Fontana, California. His mother introduced him to drums at four, and he studied trumpet and piano and played in marching and jazz bands at Fontana High School. He joined the ska-punk band The Aquabats in 1996.
In 1998 he replaced Scott Raynor as Blink-182's drummer. Enema of the State (1999) sold over 15 million copies worldwide, and "All the Small Things" reached number six on the Billboard Hot 100. Rolling Stone called him "punk's first superstar drummer" and ranked him among the 100 greatest drummers. He also played in Box Car Racer, +44 and Transplants, remixed artists such as Rihanna, and DJ'd with DJ AM.
On September 19, 2008, he and DJ AM were the only survivors of a Learjet crash in South Carolina that killed four others. He needed 16 surgeries after severe burns and did not fly again until 2021. The crash helped prompt Blink-182's 2009 reunion. He released the solo album Give the Drummer Some (2011) and the memoir Can I Say (2015). In 2015 he and Mark Hoppus parted with Tom DeLonge and brought in Matt Skiba, then DeLonge returned in 2022.
He founded the clothing brand Famous Stars and Straps (1999), LaSalle Records (2004) and DTA Records (2019), where he signed Avril Lavigne and Jxdn, and launched Barker Wellness in 2021. He has collaborated with Machine Gun Kelly, $uicideboy$ and others. He married Kourtney Kardashian in 2022, and a documentary, Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear, was released in 2026.
