Seren Ay

Seren Ay (@ai.serenay) is a Turkish AI influencer whose Instagram bio calls her "Türkiye'nin ilk yapay zeka influencerı", Turkey's first AI influencer, and carries Instagram's "AI-generated profile" label. Her bio credits "Created by: @medusa_aigency", and Medusa AIgency's own site lists "AI SEREN AY" in its portfolio as its "next-generation virtual influencer", a hyper-realistic, fashion-driven digital character powered entirely by AI. Medusa describes itself as a creative AI marketing studio based in Ankara, and its site names no individual staff.

According to a 2024 Interesting Engineering photo story and a Turkish report on the pageant, she was created in December 2023 by a team in Ankara as a brand ambassador for an online jewelry company. In an August 2025 interview with the SosyalKafa channel, summarised on Erkan Saka's blog, team member Furkan Şahin said Seren Ay was first made for an e-commerce brand as an alternative to paying human influencers, and that she soon outgrew it. He said the team has four members and that a creator named Berat shaped her look, with her red hair chosen by two members. He also said the team deliberately gives her no fixed backstory so that she stays flexible, and that she is presented as about 22 or 23.

Her public moment came in June 2024, when she was named one of ten finalists in Fanvue's Miss AI pageant, with Morocco's Kenza Layli winning. Turkish outlet Halk TV noted two Turkish finalists, Seren Ay and Asena İlik. Furkan Şahin said the placing led to a partnership with a UK-based agency. He also said about half of the direct messages sent to her account come from people who think she is a real person, and that the team answers none of them in order to keep her mysterious.

The feed is lifestyle and commentary rather than glamour: Turkish-language reels and carousels with mini vlogs (Rome, Cape Town, Barcelona), football and World Cup banter, jokes about AI and AI tools, brand tie-ins and appearances at events such as Coachella and a Kanye West concert in Istanbul, shown as AI-made scenes. Most posts draw under 300 likes, but a few broke out: a March 2026 World Cup post reached about 13,000 likes and an April 2026 LEGO Türkiye collaboration post about 32,000.

Instagram is the main account, at about 33.7K followers. A YouTube channel, "AI Seren Ay", that links to her Instagram has 109 subscribers and 25 Shorts, and describes her as an AI who questions existence through philosophy. An X account, @aiserenay, has 9 followers and 11 posts and lists a Medusa AIgency email. The interview says the team planned to expand to TikTok; a TikTok @ai.serenay exists with 80 followers but has no bio linking it to her, so it was not attached.
