Biography

Seol Woo-in is a South Korean actress and director, born in 1993 according to Cine21 and TMDB. She has played roles in TV series including Curtain Call, Blind, Dr. Park's Clinic, Oasis and King the Land, and in the 2025 film Forbidden Fairytale. Interviews say she started out as a dancer and stage actor, and she says that training helped when shaping AI performances.

Seol directed Stillray (스틸레이), a 90-minute sci-fi action film billed as South Korea's first feature made entirely with AI. It follows a young man who puts on his missing father's combat suit to fight AIRA, a robot that has judged humans a threat. Co-produced by Laon Company Plus and AINOS Studio, it was shown to press at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Seoul on 7 September 2026, with a cinema release set for 21 October 2026.

Reports say eight AI artists made it over about six months with tools including Seedance, Google Veo and Kling, cutting clips of up to 15 seconds from about 13,000 selected outputs. Seol calls the hybrid method AFX (AI plus VFX) and wrote detailed prompts for jaw tension, breathing and blinking; voice actors recorded the dialogue and lip-sync was matched to them. Reported budgets range from about 600 million won to under 1 billion won.

Early reviews praised the robot and suit designs but found human movement, dialogue timing and lip-sync uneven. The Stillray press release says Seol earlier directed the 'Day One' segment of the AI omnibus Code G, though a report on Code G's release credits that segment to Kim Kwang-sik.
