Summary
Rae (Chinese name 蕊) is a Singapore-based hyper-realistic virtual influencer who debuted on 17 October 2020. Her profiles describe her as created by CGI technology and powered by AI solutions, a 'digital artist' with a passion for street culture and skateboarding. Press followed her first year closely: an NFT series called 'Take a Byte' on Mintable in July 2021 (each piece reportedly took over 50 hours), the 'WORLDS' music video duet with singer Benjamin Kheng in August 2021 (billed as Asia's first human and virtual character collaboration), and the SBTGxRae sneaker capsule with designer Mark Ong, which reportedly sold out in three days. Brand work included Audi, OSIM, CapitaLand and lyf one-north. Her creators have never been named in the coverage read. Her Instagram has been quiet since September 2024.
Is Rae 蕊 AI?
Yes. Rae is a computer-generated virtual influencer from Singapore, made with CGI and AI by a creative team that has never been publicly named.
Every page that describes Rae says she is not a real person. Her own profiles, as quoted by wiki.sg and Mixmag Asia, say she was "created by CGI technology and powered by AI solutions", and in her Time Out Singapore interview she calls herself a virtual being. Wiki.sg says her NFT artworks were made by a team of creatives, 3D designers and photographers. Bandwagon reports that her voice in the 2021 'WORLDS' duet with Benjamin Kheng came from text-to-speech voice generation, not from a singer.
What no page settles is who runs her. Wiki.sg says her real creators are unknown, and Mixmag Asia points out that nothing on her accounts says who made her. Kheng and Rae herself refer only to "her team" and "my group of awesome creators". Wonderwall set out to find who is behind her, but the interview it ran is written in Rae's voice and names nobody. The interviews are a marketing team writing as the character, so they tell us how she is presented, not how she is made.
No source names a human model, performer or voice actor behind her face or voice. That fits the 'ai' verdict, with one gap: we don't know who operates her, or how much of each image is generated and how much is staged with 3D tools and photography.
Evidence

sg.bandwagon.asiaWiki.sg says Rae was created on 17 October 2020 with CGI technology and powered by AI, that a team of creatives, 3D designers and photographers made her NFTs, and that her real creators are unknown.
