Biography
Jacopo Reale is an Italian filmmaker and AI creative director. Reply's newsroom describes him as director and AI Creative Director at Labyrinth Reply, the Reply Group company for AI-generated film and audiovisual production. He co-founded Labyrinth Studio AI in Italy with Giacomo Cannelli and Alessandro Risuleo.
He says he spent more than 15 years as a film editor before moving into generative AI to tell the stories he likes. He counts The Fracture as perhaps his fifth or sixth AI film.
The Fracture, which he wrote and directed, was produced by Animatix.ai and Labyrinth. It is a thriller set partly in 1515, about a queen whose husband returns from war haunted by visions of a life centuries in the future. It took more than a month to make and mixed a generative image and video pipeline with traditional editing, sound design and mixing. Reale says AI is changing the tools while editing and narrative structure stay rooted in traditional filmmaking.
The film won Best Direction at the inaugural Astana AI Film Festival in 2026, and was a finalist at the World AI Film Festival in Cannes and AI Film Fest Monaco.
