Biography
About Jack Tempchin
He led the country-rock band Funky Kings in the mid-1970s, released his first solo album in 1978 and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2019.
In early 2026 the San Diego Union-Tribune reported that he had turned to the AI music platform Suno for two new studio albums, The Magic Mirror and All Kinds of Love, 17 songs in all. He wrote every lyric himself, but the singing, playing, arrangement and production on the finished records were generated by Suno; he told the paper that none of his own vocals or guitar remain on them and that he wanted listeners to know the recordings are sung, played and produced by AI. His live shows, the paper noted, stay free of AI.
