About Ella Henderson

Ella Henderson (Gabriella Michelle Henderson, born 12 January 1996) is a British singer-songwriter from Grimsby, England. She sings and plays piano, and works across pop, R&B, soul and house.

She came to attention in 2012 on series nine of The X Factor UK, finishing sixth in a result widely seen as a shock. In 2014 she signed with Syco Music, and her debut single "Ghost" entered at number one in the UK. Her debut album Chapter One also reached number one that year.

After touring she took a break of about four years, then left Syco in 2018 and signed with Major Toms, the Asylum Records imprint run by Rudimental. She released the Glorious EP in 2019 and her second album, Everything I Didn't Say, in 2022, which became her second UK top 10 album. Singles such as "Alibi" with Rudimental, "Filthy Rich" and "Me & You" followed in 2024 and 2025.

She has featured on many dance collaborations, among them Sigma's "Glitterball", Jax Jones's "This Is Real" and David Guetta and Becky Hill's "Crazy What Love Can Do". Her honours include an Attitude Award for Best Breakthrough Artist (2014), a Brit Billion Award (2023) and an Official Top 10 Award (2024), with four Brit Award nominations and an Ivor Novello nomination in 2022.
