EJAE

EJAE, born Kim Eun-jae on 6 December 1991 in Seoul, is a South Korean-American songwriter, producer and singer. She spent her childhood between Fort Lee, New Jersey and South Korea, and later studied at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.

She trained at SM Entertainment for close to a decade, from 2003 to 2015, but never debuted as a soloist or in a group. She turned to songwriting and production instead, working on releases by K-pop acts including Red Velvet, Aespa, Twice and Le Sserafim.

Her breakthrough was co-writing the topline of Red Velvet's "Psycho", which topped the US Billboard World Digital Songs chart, followed by credits such as Aespa's "Drama".

In 2025 she provided the singing voice of the character Rumi in Netflix's KPop Demon Hunters and co-wrote several of its songs. "Golden", which she co-wrote and co-performed, topped the Billboard Hot 100. It won the Academy Award and the Golden Globe for Best Original Song and the Grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media, described as the first K-pop song to win several major North American industry awards.
