Summary
Dagny is a digital fashion model created and run by The Diigitals, the all-digital modelling agency and AI character studio founded by Cameron-James Wilson (creator of Shudu) in 2017. The agency describes her as its hyper-real digital muse and high-fashion cover star, built for luxury campaigns and scalable visuals beyond the limits of conventional production. Early coverage in 2019 listed her among the agency's launch roster, described as an ethereal, elfin model, alongside Brenn, Koffi, Margot, Zhi and Galaxia, and a 2020 interview with Wilson shows her appearing alongside Shudu. Her Instagram account, dagny.gram, has about 9,500 followers; its profile names her an OpenArt AI ambassador and its highlights point to editorial work such as ELLE, Nylon and Mercedes, with posts shared with the Shudu and Diigitals accounts.
Is Dagny AI?
Yes. Dagny is a computer-generated fashion model made and run by The Diigitals, the UK digital modelling agency and AI character studio founded by Cameron-James Wilson, the creator of Shudu.
The clearest word comes from the people who make her. The Diigitals' own page for Dagny calls her the studio's "hyper-real digital muse" and lists her among its models, and the studio describes itself as an AI character and digital fashion studio working in 3D fashion modelling. Two independent outlets agree: Phoenix Magazine in 2019 named "ethereal, elfin Dagny" among the digital models Wilson's new agency represents, and VirtualHumans.org in 2020 listed her among the "virtuals" Wilson had added to the roster beside Shudu.
No page names a human model, voice or performer behind Dagny. That matters because the same Phoenix piece explains that Wilson sometimes builds Shudu's images by shooting a real model and merging her with the 3D character, and names that model. Nothing similar has been reported for Dagny, but the sources never say exactly how her images are produced either, so a photographed body or reference shoot in some campaigns cannot be ruled out.
The evidence is consistent but thin: the operator's description is short, and both press mentions are brief lines in pieces about Shudu. None of it disagrees, though. Dagny is a digital character owned by a studio, not a person posting as herself.
Evidence
The Diigitals' page for Dagny calls her the studio's hyper-real digital muse, crafted for luxury campaigns, and signs off as an AI Character & Digital Fashion Studio.
thediigitals.comPhoenix Magazine reported in 2019 that Cameron-James Wilson's newly launched digital model agency, The Diigitals, also represents ethereal, elfin Dagny alongside Shudu.
phoenixmag.co.ukVirtualHumans.org's 2020 interview with Wilson says he added the virtuals Galaxia, Brenn, Dagny, Koffi, Margot and Zhi to The Diigitals, and shows Dagny appearing beside Shudu.
