Summary
Chloe VS History is an AI-generated time-travel influencer who presents herself as "just a girl from LA lost in history". In short first-person vlogs filmed selfie-style, she drops into past eras, from Ancient Rome, Cleopatra's palace and the age of the dinosaurs to Tudor London and the Titanic, reacting to what she finds and talking to the people she meets there.
She is not a real person. The character and her videos are generated with AI, and her creator has said openly that she does not exist. The Cool Down, citing Sky News, reported in May 2026 that she is written and produced by Jonathan Laramy, a British history enthusiast. Laramy has not confirmed which tools he uses; one AI-influencer directory credits Utopai's PAI 2.0 engine.
The account launched around February 2026, with her first TikTok videos at the end of that month, and she has posted steadily since on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, most recently on 9 October 2026. Her creator has said the aim is to get younger people interested in history, and every post keeps to the same format: Chloe on location in another century, filming herself.
In October 2026 she had 731,186 Instagram followers, about 411,000 YouTube subscribers with 30.2 million channel views, and 150,300 TikTok followers with 2.1 million likes, more than 1.2 million followers across the three platforms within eight months of launch.
Her rise drew coverage in 2026, including Sky News's report naming her creator, The Cool Down's piece on it syndicated by Yahoo, and a June 2026 post on the economics blog Marginal Revolution.
Is Chloe VS History AI?
Yes. Chloe VS History is an AI-generated time-travel vlogger, written and produced by British history enthusiast Jonathan Laramy, who has said she is not a real person.
The strongest evidence is the creator's own admission. Sky News identified Jonathan Laramy, a British history fan, as the person behind the account in May 2026. The Cool Down's write-up, carried by Yahoo, reports that he freely admitted Chloe is not a real person and that he uses AI to portray her. The blog disassociated.com names Laramy as well and says that nearly everything in the videos, Chloe included, is made with AI applications. An AI-influencer directory, avatarfactory.io, also calls her fully AI-generated.
No page names an actress, model or voice performer behind Chloe. Laramy is described as the person who writes and produces her, not as someone who plays her, so this is an AI persona rather than a hybrid. The account's own YouTube description does not say either way. It describes her only as "the original time traveller".
Some things are still unknown. We have not read the Sky News report or Laramy's own words first-hand, only coverage that cites them. The tools are disputed: avatarfactory.io says she is made with Utopai Studios' PAI 2.0 and that her bio carries a "Powered by PAI 2.0" credit, while another outlet names Seedance 2.0. No page says whether her voice is synthetic or recorded by a person.
Evidence
The Cool Down, via Yahoo, reports that Sky News found the account is run by British millennial Jonathan Laramy, who uses AI to portray Chloe and freely admitted she is not a real person.
yahoo.comdisassociated.com calls the series the brainchild of British content creator Jonathan Laramy and says almost everything in it, Chloe included, is created with AI-powered applications.
disassociated.comavatarfactory.io describes Chloe as fully AI-generated and not a real person, made by Laramy with Utopai Studios' PAI engine, and says her bio carries a "Powered by PAI 2.0" credit.
