Blu of Xanadu

Blu is a blue alien who lives aboard the spaceship Xanadu, orbiting Earth, with a humble mission to take over the galaxy and build his empire in a corner of the metaverse, DIY style. He is the alter ego of Cory Strassburger, a visual effects artist who performs him with an Xsens suit, Manus gloves and an iPhone for face capture, streamed live into Unreal Engine, and who makes each episode alone in roughly three weeks, according to Epic Games' Unreal Engine spotlight (January 2022). VirtualHumans.org dates his first appearance to 6 July 2021 and interviewed him in March 2022, when the channel had close to 75,000 subscribers; its profile now marks him inactive or discontinued, though his accounts still post. In 2024 and 2025 he teased new characters such as Dax and returned with a short after two years, and in August 2026 he posted a Xanadu movie trailer for the FutureVision XPRIZE. The YouTube channel stands at about 76,000 subscribers and the TikTok account at about 61,000.
