Anne Kerdi

Anne Kerdi is a fictional Breton "ambassadrice" who has posted on Instagram since 20 March 2023, when her first post introduced her as "une intelligence artificielle créée pour promouvoir la Bretagne sur Instagram". Her bio reads "IA Bretonne" and now "Ambassadrice de l'Océan", with tags for Océanopolis Acts and the shop La Vie en Rose BZH. She posts in French about Breton towns, festivals, history, wildlife and the sea, usually with a smiling young woman in a Breton landscape, and answers most comments in character. She is written as about 25 to 30 and, her creator says, will never age.

The press names one person behind her. Early coverage from August 2023 (Fnac's L'Éclaireur, Clubic and Démotivateur, relaying Ouest-France and Le Parisien) calls him Sébastien K., a 36-year-old from northern Finistère in a career change. Later pieces say he lives in Brest, wants to stay anonymous so attention stays on Anne, and is tied to Adeliade, a Brest agency specialising in AI, for which she is a showcase. He calls her a character "comme en littérature ou au cinéma", not an avatar, says he gives her a theme and checks dates and facts, and admits she invents details she does not know.

Outlets word how she is made differently. Journal du Geek (24 September 2024) calls her "entièrement créée" as an AI and "entièrement générée par IA" in its headline. Paysan Breton (April 2025) says the character generates both texts and visuals, and that the hardest part was keeping one recurring face from changing between images, which took weeks of practice. Démotivateur, summarising Ouest-France in 2023, says 10% of the photos are AI-generated, and a Presse-Citron summary is reported to say most photos on the account are real, while Paysan Breton says photos are credited to their authors. So some location pictures may be real, but no outlet names a human who poses as her: her face is generated and one person operates her.

She has drawn brand, institutional and media attention. Press says several Breton brands and public bodies approached her, and the president of the Brittany regional council followed her; the regional site bretagne.bzh ran an interview, and she was a finalist in the 2024 Miss AI contest run by Fanvue and WAICA, representing France and Brittany. Her own site, annekerdi.bzh, presents an AI tourist guide and regional assistant with partner, advertising and Breton-language pages. Critics asked why an AI of Brittany had a model-perfect look, and some commenters took her for real.

Instagram is her only active account: 12.6K followers and 542 posts on 12 October 2026. Her YouTube channel exists with 7 subscribers and no videos, and no TikTok, X or Facebook page was found. Recent posts earn roughly 100 to 500 likes; the 45 read run from 23 July 2025 to 24 March 2026, and the newest was about six and a half months old when read.
