Biography

Andrea Iervolino is an Italian–Canadian film producer and entrepreneur from Cassino, in Italy's Frosinone province. He produced his first film, The Cavalier of Love, in 2003 and founded Iervolino Entertainment in 2011; in 2013 he and Monika Bacardi formed AMBI Media Group. Iervolino Entertainment listed on AIM Italia in 2019 and became Iervolino & Lady Bacardi Entertainment (ILBE) in 2021. His credits include Ferrari and To the Bone; other ventures include the TaTaTu platform and a stake in Miami FC.

In October 2024 he announced he would step down as president and CEO of ILBE to launch The Andrea Iervolino Company, a split from Bacardi that Corriere Canadese called largely unexpected. Open reports that the break led to opposing lawsuits over Sipario Movies, which the pair had run, and that in June 2025 Italy's Culture Ministry revoked €66 million in tax credits granted to it after its then liquidator alleged inflated production costs. In October 2025 it added that a Rome appeals court had upheld that liquidator's removal, as Iervolino had sought, and that no criminal charges had been brought.

On 1 October 2025 his new label, The Andrea Iervolino Company AI, announced The Sweet Idleness, which he bills as the first feature directed by an AI: a system called FellinAI, named in tribute to Federico Fellini. The film imagines a future in which only about 1% of humanity still works. Iervolino is its producer and "Human-on-the-Loop", supervising the AI process for creative and production consistency, while Andrea Biglione acts as "Human-in-the-Loop". Its performers come from Actor+, an in-house agency making digital versions of real actors.

Iervolino has said the approach is not meant to replace traditional cinema, but to let hard-to-finance or long-shelved projects get made. A teaser came out with the announcement, days after the controversy over the AI performer Tilly Norwood, and Wikipedia lists February 2026 as its planned release.
