Director Zelda Williams has again asked people to stop making AI videos of her late father, Robin Williams, after being shown a supposed private clip of him talking about conspiracy theories. In a post on X on 21 September she called it plainly fake and unconvincing, and told its makers to "have some shame."
Her objection went beyond quality: she criticised using a dead man to make someone else's argument for them, and said his death does not make him anyone's puppet.
The family has pushed back before. In August the siblings reopened his Instagram as a trusted home for his legacy, citing AI abuse of his image, and in October 2025 she asked fans to stop sending her such videos.
