A survey of 900 Korean users of YouTube, Instagram and TikTok by research firm Opensurvey found 85.6% want platforms to flag AI-made content, with 54.1% calling labels essential. Support was 88% among YouTube users, 85.3% on Instagram and 83.3% on TikTok, The Korea Times reports.
Attitudes were mostly negative: about half found AI content awkward, 39% doubted its accuracy and a third felt deceived when AI use was hidden. Only around one in ten called it creative, interesting or new.
Ads drew the same doubts. Among people who remembered disliking an ad, 13.2% said it looked AI-made, 20.7% found ads exaggerated and 18.7% cited seeing the same ones repeatedly.
Many want more than a tag: 37.8% want to know which parts of a post used AI, and a third want clearer ad notices. Opensurvey warns platforms and creators risk losing trust without disclosure.
