Suno has brought in its first chief financial officer. Cherry Miao, who previously ran finance at the data and AI marketing firm Hightouch, disclosed the move herself on LinkedIn on 14 September, presenting it as a personal choice tied to music's place in her family rather than to the company's growth rate.
She arrives at a company with a lot of money to manage. Suno raised more than $400 million in June at a $5.4 billion valuation, over twice what it was worth after its Series C in late 2025, and in February it reported upwards of 2 million paying subscribers and about $300 million in annualised revenue. It had roughly 200 staff in June and planned to grow sharply by year end. At Hightouch, Miao covered finance, legal, data and revenue operations; she has also worked at Headway and Accel.
She is the latest in a run of senior hires, after former Merlin chief Jeremy Sirota joined as chief commercial officer in February and ex-Warner executive Paul Sinclair became chief music officer in 2025.
The appointment lands in the middle of Suno's legal fight with the music business. Universal and Sony are still suing it in Boston, with fact discovery due to close on 30 September; it lost a GEMA case in Munich in July and faces claims from Denmark's Koda, Canada's SOCAN and publisher Round Hill. On the other side are licensing deals with Warner, BMG and Believe.
