Sample marketplace Splice will bring ElevenLabs' music models into its production workflows under a new partnership. Chief executive Kakul Srivastava pitched it as part of a creator-first phase of AI in music, with the people who made the original samples paid whenever an AI feature uses them.
Splice has been building out AI for months: generative customisation tools, the purchase of Kits AI, and a December agreement with Universal Music Group on commercial AI tools. ElevenLabs has its own licensing deals with Kobalt and Merlin.
ElevenLabs co-founder Mati Staniszewski said the tie-up puts its models directly in working musicians' hands.
