Streaming service Qobuz now tags music it has identified as AI-generated, so listeners can see what they are playing. Its editor-picked recommendations already leave such tracks out.
Qobuz says AI tracks account for just 0.38% of its streams and that 60% of their plays are judged fraudulent and kept out of royalties. It has removed over a third of AI albums with no listens, some four million tracks, from search.
Deputy CEO Georges Fornay framed the tag as letting listeners make informed choices.
