Olivia Rodrigo has said she will not use artificial intelligence in her music, in any form. In a Hollywood Reporter cover story published on 7 October 2026, she called it a firm line for her, and when asked whether it might ever play a part in how she writes or records, her answer was a flat no.
“The closest I’d ever got is that once, me and Dan were like, ‘God, I wonder what ideas ChatGPT would have for an Olivia Rodrigo title.’ And they’re all fucking awful.”

The nearest she has come, by her own account, was a passing joke with her producer Dan Nigro, when the two wondered what ChatGPT would suggest as titles for an Olivia Rodrigo song. She did not think much of the results. The profile ties into her Daisy Chain Fields festival, an all-women event in California that raised about $20 million for charities.

The comments land in a heated stretch for AI music. NME points to Suno's admission last month that it used audio taken from YouTube in training, a lawsuit from Jason Isbell and other artists over style imitation, and Dr. Dre's remark that he is embracing the technology. Billboard adds that Suno and similar generators face a growing list of artist suits over unlicensed training data.
Billboard also notes that her stance drew extra attention because of July photos of her with a man reported to work at an AI-investment firm. She told the magazine she is single and found the scrutiny intrusive. Her Unraveled Tour continues, with London O2 dates next spring.
