Deezer won the innovation prize at the first Billboard Power Players ceremony held by Billboard France, for its in-house tool that detects fully AI-generated tracks, Phonandroid reports.
The detector has been in use since January 2025. Deezer puts its accuracy at 99.8 percent and says it flagged more than 13.4 million AI tracks in 2025 alone.
The company has said that about half of its daily uploads, some 90,000 tracks, are fully AI-made, but that they draw only 1 to 3 percent of streams. It keeps them low in visibility and out of editorial picks, saying it wants to keep the service transparent for listeners, offer an editorial experience built around human creators and stop AI tracks from diluting the royalties owed to real artists.
It has also begun licensing the tool, which the collecting societies Sacem, Buma/Stemra and EJI have adopted.
