The Busan International Film Festival will hold its Forum BIFF from 8 to 11 October, and one of its four strands is given over to generative AI and filmmaking.
Chinese director Jia Zhangke gives the keynote for a session on whether AI and artists can coexist, with directors Min Kyu-dong, Li Wei and Yerlan Nurmukhambetov on the panel. Jia's AI-made short Jia Zhangke's Dance will be screened there with other AI work.
Other sessions take on mid-budget films, creators' contracts and copyright, and greener production. Entry is free and in person only; the festival runs 6 to 15 October.
